This is our best tasting asparagus variety. Sweet Purple is a beautiful dark purple variety that is sweeter than stan-dard green varieties. Plants are very vigorous and get into production in the third year with large tender spears. This asparagus can be used either raw or cooked, however Sweet Purple becomes greener when cooked.

NOTE:
Asparagus plants are dug dormant and put into cold storage until ordered by the customer. They are then separated, graded, and bundled 25 per bundle. Large quantities are available in field run bulk containers. Most of our asparagus qualify as 2 year old asparagus, even though they are 1 year #1 crowns.
